Temporary Motor Cover
We are also able to offer temporary motor cover that provides instant short-term insurance for cars and vans. Cover is ideal for:
- Temporary additional drivers (including overseas visitors)
- Unaccompanied vehicle demonstrations or use of courtesy cars
- Lending a car or van (up to 3.5 tonnes) to a friend, collegue or relative
- Immediate drive away insurance following purchase of a car or van (up to 3.5 tonnes)
The Motor Insurance Database (MID) holds insurance details for millions of vehicles on a national scale.
For company vehicles it is the responsibility of the policy holder to ensure that all company vehicle details are provided for the MID.
If your vehicle details are not on the MID the driver of that vehicle is at risk of being stopped by the police and having the vehicle impounded, and possibly disposed of, if proof of insurance can not be provided.
